The TxDOT Odessa District, with the assistance of Lee Engineering, LLC, performed a study of traffic operations and safety along the Business IH 20 (BI 20) corridor from 8th Street in the City of Odessa to Midkiff Road in the City of Midland.  The purpose of this study was to identify short-term and long-term improvements to address the operational and safety issues which currently exist along the BI 20 corridor.

TxDOT, in conjunction with Lee Engineering, held three public forums to discuss this study and the BI 20 corridor with residents in the area.  The information presented at each of these forums is available by following the links at the top of this site.  At the third and final public forums, Lee Engineering presented proposed short-term and long-term recommendations to improve safety and operations along the corridor.   These recommendations included modified access to businesses along the BI 20 corridor, and changes to median opening locations.
